Panache Fire Services have had the pleasure of maintaining Fairhive Homes’ Fire Alarm Systems for many years. Following a visit to Wycliffe End, one of Fairhive’s sites, located in Aylesbury, it was recommended that the Fire Alarm System required an upgrade. Fairhive Homes Electrical Technical Manager Trevor Bennett mentioned: “There has been numerous false alarms with this system which didn’t provide the detailed information required to the responsive fire brigade. Whilst the system had been repaired as required it became uneconomical to continue with this”. After multiple meetings and discussions, we were awarded the contract to supply, install and commission the new Wireless Fire Alarm Systems throughout all five buildings.
Fairhive, a not-for-profit organisation, provide nearly 9,000 affordable homes across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and South Northamptonshire. As a Community Benefit Society (CBS), it is Fairhive's mission to provide cohesive communities and safe homes for everyone to lead fulfilling and enjoyable lives.
After careful consideration between Panache Fire Services and Fairhive Homes we decided that an EMS Wireless Fire Alarm System would be best suited for this site and FireCell was chosen.
FireCell has become the first choice whenever wireless, or hybrid technology is deployed. FireCell is a totally wireless based solution that also incorporates hybrid technology, which means additional protection devices can be added if necessary, providing maximum flexibility to meet today’s demanding building requirements around fire safety. Incorporating EMS Smart Cluster Technology and utilising the 868MHz European harmonised frequency band, FireCell was the first UK wireless fire system to meet EN54-25 and boasts a wireless coverage which exceeds other 868MHz based systems. From a few devices, up to multiple control panels wirelessly networked, FireCell is flexible, scalable as well as being easy to install, commission and service.
EMS field technical manager David Jones said “Panache Fire Services have been a pleasure to work with on this large project from start to finish with a special mention to Adam Wing who was thrown in the deep end with our product and came out the other end saying, “I cannot believe how easy multiple wireless networks with hundreds of devices could be installed in such a short space of time with ease”.
EMS prides itself on solid high level wireless reliability coupled with ground-breaking market leading low-cost battery Alkaline technology.
Working with Panache Fire Services on a large prestige project couldn’t have gone any smoother. The EMS family are looking forward to working closely with Panache Fire Services on future projects, “well done Panache Fire Services”.

Key to the success of this contract was to ensure clear communication with both Fairhive and their residents. A programme of works was therefore developed and with the assistance of Fairhive’s Neighbourhood Manager and the Electrical Technical Manager installations were completed seamlessly. Trevor Bennett said: “The works were conducted in a way that allowed us to have full confidence in the engineers. They have always stuck to their word and haven’t let us down once.”.
We are proud to say that the Fire Alarm System upgrade from start to finish was a resounding success. Although the agreed timeframe was initially 12 weeks, Panache Fire Services managed to complete the project in just under 10.5 weeks. “We couldn’t believe how quickly the work was completed yet the quality was not compromised at all” – T. Bennett.
“We cannot praise Panache Fire Services enough. The work they have conducted has been absolutely outstanding. I would like to say a special thank you to Adam, who assisted us every step of the way. He was always transparent with us and kept us updated daily. We have had 2.5 years of exceptional service with Panache Fire Services and look forward to continuing to work together in the future.“ – T. Bennett
We are so proud of our team for their commitment and dedication on this project!
